U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says the breadth of the ag processing sector makes it difficult to define a coronavirus relief program and its expected demand.
During his visit Friday to Michigan and Indiana, Perdue fielded questions about what kind of COVID-19 support could extend beyond producer payments.
“Honestly, I don’t know how we would even calculate what the demand is in that arena.
Perdue tells Brownfield he expects a second round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program with $14 billion available to roll out sometime later in September.
