A grain elevator in north central Illinois is preparing for large corn and soybean crops this harvest.
Mark Heil is the general manger of Prairie Central Cooperative in McLean and Livingston counties. He tells Brownfield he is confident they can handle it.
“Overall, I think the commercial grain space is ready for a big harvest. We have shipped a lot of grain out this year and we are in a position to handle a good-sized crop.”
At this point Heil does not anticipate the high drying demand they saw in 2019, but that depends on what farmers decide to do with wind damaged crops.
