Direct cash cattle trade is quiet through midday. Bids and asking prices have yet to surface. If the trend of recent weeks continues, look for at least some business to develop just about every day. Last week, business started in the South on Tuesday with at least some trade developing about every day. The full range was $103 to $107 live, mostly at $106, about $2 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages. The bulk of trade in the North took place on Thursday and Friday with a full range of $167 to $174, mostly at $169, roughly $1 higher than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
