Persistent dry conditions are causing crop conditions to deteriorate in Michigan.

The USDA says 77 percent of corn is in the dough stage, 24 percent is dented, and condition declined 11 points to 54 percent good to excellent.  Soybeans are 96 percent setting pods, and condition dropped 10 points to 63 percent good to excellent.

As of Sunday, 52 percent of dry beans and 58 percent of sugarbeets were in good to excellent condition.
