Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is allocating almost 100 million dollars of federal CARES Act relief funds for a range of ag programs to offset the impact of COVID-19 on farmers and related industries.
Sixty-million dollars will go to the Iowa Livestock Producer Relief Fund, which provides grants up to 10-thousand dollars to eligible livestock producers. Another nine million dollars will be added to the state’s disposal assistance program, which helps producers who were forced to euthanize and dispose of livestock because of packing plant slowdowns and shutdowns.
