A light direct cash cattle trade has developed parts of the South. Deals in Texas are at $105 live. There are some bids that have been floated in other parts of cattle country at $104 to $106 live, otherwise, it remains pretty quiet for the most part. Asking prices have yet to surface anywhere.
Boxed beef is higher at midday on good demand for light offerings. Choice is $1.74 higher at $229.21 and Select is $2.07 higher at $213.32. The Choice/Select spread is $15.89.
