An eastern Nebraska farmer says last week’s hot temperatures probably hurt potential corn and soybean yields, especially for the non-irrigated crops.
But Quentin Connealy, who farms in the Missouri River bottoms near Tekamah, Nebraska, says the irrigated crops still look very good.
“I think we lost some top-end yields last week with that 90-degree heat but I think we’ll be sitting all right,” Connealy says. “Dryland will be losing it but irrigated should be above average.
