Harvest this year will include an extra level of safety as farmers and ag businesses instill coronavirus prevention practices.
Chuck Lippstreu, president of the Michigan Agri-Business Association, tells Brownfield companies have had months to prepare COVID-19 protocols and ways to make sure commerce continues.
“Putting up barriers, making sure that everyone is following the procedures in terms of social distancing, making sure that everything that’s being used in terms of pens or computers are sanitized surfaces, and also making sure PPE is issued.”
He says grain storage safety is extremely important during harvest and the simplest way to stay safe is to stay out.
