Some Illinois corn and soybean fields are in the final stages of development as harvest season approaches.
The USDA reports as of Sunday 23% of the corn crop has reached maturity and 86% of the crop is dented. Soybeans began turning color last week with 13% in that stage and 2% dropping leaves.
Crop condition ratings saw little movement week to week with near average temperatures and rainfall for the state.
