Direct cash cattle trade has been slow today following the extended holiday weekend. Bid and asking prices are not well established and while a big feature will likely the distribution of this week’s new direct cash cattle showlist, both could start to surface later today. Last week’s live trade in the South was mainly at $102 to $103, $2 to $3 lower than the previous week, while dressed activity in the North was ranged from $162 to $164, mostly $163, about $4 lower than the prior week’s weighted average for Nebraska.
