The USDA’s national condition ratings for corn and soybeans both declined modestly over the past week. Weather remains highly variable around the country, including lingering drought, freeze or frost, and heavy rainfall in parts of the Midwest and Plains.
As of Sunday, 60% of U.S. corn is rated good to excellent, 1% less than last week, with 89% of the crop dented, compared to the five-year average of 82%, 41% mature, compared to 32% on average, and 5% harvested, matching the normal pace.
