Direct cash cattle trade is off to an expected quiet start to the week. Bids and asking prices have yet to surface and the bulk of the day’s activity so far is likely inventory taking. It could be Tuesday or later before any significant trade activity surfaces. The bulk of last week’s business took place on Wednesday with a few more additional deals trickling in the rest of the week. Southern live prices were mostly at $101 to $102, $1 to $2 lower than the prior week’s weighted averages.
