The top Democrat on the Senate Ag Committee has blasted the Trump Administration over reports that it might try to use USDA funds to compensate oil refiners who are denied biofuel blending waivers.
Stabenow was reacting to media reports, which are based on anonymous sources, that the Administration is developing a plan to provide aid to oil companies that are denied small refinery exemptions for the 2019 compliance year. Stabenow says its “outrageous” that the Administration would even consider such a move and calls it “yet another insult” to biofuel producers.
