An Iowa State University ag economist says changes made in CFAP2 should make it easier for producers to qualify for payments.
Chad Hart says, at first glance, it appears USDA has addressed eligibility questions that existed in CFAP1.
“If you think about CFAP1, it was the issue of how you marketed your crops or livestock that determined whether you were eligible or not,” Hart says. “Here, since they moved to just counting the animals or counting the acres, it’s made it much more streamlined for producers.”
And Hart says there is another change in CFAP2 that he was pleased to see.
