Heavy rain will remain a threat across the western Gulf Coast and portions of eastern and southern Texas as Tropical Storm Beta impacts the area. Elsewhere during the next 5 days, dry weather will prevail in other areas of the country, except for a period of scattered showers in the Pacific Northwest and northern sections of the Rockies and Plains. During the first half of next week, Hurricane Teddy may pass close enough to coastal New England to deliver rain and gusty winds.
