South Dakota farmers made some harvest progress last week.
The USDA says as of Sunday, five percent of both the soybean and corn acreage has been harvested, up slightly from their five-year averages.
Soybeans dropping leaves, at 80 percent, is well ahead of last year’s 24 percent and 61 percent normally.
Sixty-five percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent.
For corn, 64 percent is mature and 71 percent is considered good to excellent.
