Most Wisconsin farmers were able to accomplish plenty of fieldwork last week with an average of more than 6 days available across the state.

Frost was reported in central and northern Wisconsin, including killing frosts in some areas, with most of the state experiencing no precipitation and lower than normal temperatures.

The USDA says the corn for silage harvest jumped to 62% complete, 28 days faster than a year ago and 11 days ahead of the five-year average, with 91% dented and 49% mature, while 77% of the crop is rated good to excellent, down 1% on the week.
