A University of Missouri climatologist says Missouri and Iowa might receive an early fall freeze.
Patrick Guinan said a cold front moving in from Canada could lead to freezing conditions around October 1st.
“In the Iowa, Missouri border it’s [the freeze] generally around October 11th,” he said. “That would be one to two weeks earlier than usual in regard to an early fall freeze.”
And he said the cold front will likely not relieve scattered drought conditions in the Midwest.
