A cold front, currently pushing eastward, will reach the Atlantic Seaboard around mid-week. Rainfall associated with the front could total 2 to 4 inches or more in the middle and northern Atlantic States. Drought relief may occur in New England, but areas farther south may experience flash flooding. Later in the week, a secondary cold front will deliver some of the coldest air of the season across the Midwest. Late this week, widespread freezes should occur from Nebraska and the Dakotas eastward into the Great Lakes region.
