Direct cash cattle trade is off to a slow start following Thursday’s moderate business across most areas. Asking prices for cattle left on showlists are around $108 to $109 live in the South and $169 plus dressed in the North. There are a few bids that have surfaced at $107 live. Prices on Thursday were fully steady with the week’s previous business at $107 live, $2 higher than the prior week’s weighted averages. Dressed deals in the North ranged from $167 to $168, steady to $1 higher than Wednesday’s business and $3 higher than last week.
