A southeast Iowa farmer got a head start on soybean harvest.
Mark Jackson of Mahaska County says timely planting and a warm, dry summer pushed his crop right along this year.
“Typically we get to about the third week in September and do a little corn, maybe a little soybeans, trying to get everything lined up. We were actually started I think about the second week of September (this year), so about a week earlier than normal.”
Brownfield spoke to Jackson as he harvested soybeans Tuesday.
