Farmers and ag retailers are anxiously awaiting word from the EPA about 2021 dicamba registrations.

Rick Swenson, agronomy manager for North Dakota-based Peterson Farms Seed, says the company is patiently waiting.

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler says a decision on the re-registration of Bayer’s Xtendimax and BASF’s Engenia dicamba herbicides should be made by mid-October.

Swenson tells Brownfield he’s pleased to see European approval of XtendFlex soybean technology.

“That’s going to add another tool to the arsenal of what we can try to combat these weeds with.”

He says farmers need as many options as possible in the battle against herbicide resistance.
