Brownfield Meteorologist Greg Soulje says many farmers in the Midwest are making good harvest progress because of warm and mostly dry conditions.

“It’s been phenomenal with warm temperatures, low afternoon humidity, nice breeze, good moisture reduction, evaporative losses, dry down, and everything that keeps a few pennies in your back pocket compared to the past few years of taking things to the elevator,” he says.

He says there are drought conditions in parts of Iowa and Nebraska, but overall conditions across the Midwest have been “remarkable.”

In the coming weeks, Soulje says farmers can expect cooler and wetter conditions.
