USDA has opened the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs for 2021 enrollment and elections. USDA says the ARC and PLC safety net programs help producers weather revenue or price fluctuations for certain crops.
USDA says producers can elect coverage and enroll in crop-by-crop ARC County or PLC, or ARC-Individual for the entire farm for 2021. Election changes for next year are optional, and USDA says if a producer makes changes to a multi-year contract, a new contract will need to be signed. Producers will also have an opportunity to make new elections for the 2022 and 2023 crop years.
