The Trump administration has announced another $14 million investment in rural broadband for Illinois.

The funds are part of the $550 million congress allocated to the second round of the USDA’s ReConnect program.

Jo-Carroll Energy Inc. has received the grant to deploy a fiber-to-the-premises network to parts of Jo Daviess, Carroll, Whiteside and Stephenson counties. The project is expected to provide high speed broadband to more than 7,600 people, nearly 400 farms, 150 businesses, eight public schools, three fire stations, two post offices and two museums.
