Missouri is getting 91-Million dollars in new USDA funds to bring high-speed broadband internet to thousands of customers in rural communities.

Missouri Rural Development Director Jeff Case said these new Reconnect Program funds combined with Reconnect-ONE total nearly $200-Million dollars in grants, “It will have a direct impact on nearly 75,000 people, 1,665 farms, 637 businesses, 34 critical community facilities and 24 educational institutions,” he said.

Farm Service Agency Administrator Richard Fordyce joined Case and recipients of the newest grants and loans this morning, “If we think about where we’ve been as a country and certainly as a state in the last six or seven months in the pandemic, it’s really accentuated, frankly, the real need for connectivity,” Fordyce said.
