Yet another storm system will arrive across the Northwest on Friday, with snow returning across the northern Plains and upper Midwest during the weekend. With the latter storm, weekend snow will also affect the central and southern Rockies and adjacent High Plains. As the storms depart, cold air entrenched across the northwestern and north-central U.S. will make a significant push southward. Across northern sections of the Rockies and High Plains, the cold spell should peak with widespread sub-zero temperatures on Sunday and Monday.
