An FFA official says she considers this week’s virtual national convention as an opportunity to reach more students, teachers, alumni, and family members.
Cheryl Zimmerman is National FFA’s Secretary and the Wisconsin FFA Executive Director. She tells Brownfield their virtual July state convention and now this week’s virtual national convention is very different without the in-person activities, but “We want to learn from this experience, too, so that when we do go back in-person, you know, we continue in our social media efforts because we know that we can reach so many people.”
Zimmerman tells Brownfield there will be six different pathways to deliver the convention with national officers and awards in the main sessions that are open to the public, plus interactive sessions with an online expo, workshops for students and teachers, the Blue Room focusing on science and technology, and a new way for students to connect with exhibitors.
