Sales of organic products are up more than 30 percent from 2016, according to a survey by the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Data from the 2019 Organic Survey shows that total sales of organic products reached $9.9 billion. There are more than 16,500 certified organic farms, accounting for 5.5 million certified acres.

NASS Administrator Hubert Hamer says the survey shows continued growth of organic production in the US.

Livestock and poultry products, mostly milk and eggs, increased 12 percent, livestock and poultry is up 44 percent, and field crops increased 55 percent.
