A timely harvest this year has allowed companies to get a head start on compiling agronomic data.

Jim Hedges with WinField United tells Brownfield there have been challenges in some areas, but nationwide harvest and data collection of the 2020 crop are well ahead of recent years which is a good thing for researchers, agronomists, and growers.

“Because they have more time to really digest the data and make thoughtful decisions about not only the seed inputs but also the other crop protection inputs that they are going to use on that whole acre.”

He says growers can be looking at how certain varieties and hybrids react to inputs like nitrogen and fungicides.
