Representative Jim Costa has announced he is seeking the chairmanship of the House Agriculture Committee.
As a third-generation farmer, Costa says he has the experience, expertise, and passion to connect with rural Americans and lead the committee.
The California Democrat was elected in 2005 and is third in seniority on the committee. He says he has a longstanding bipartisan track record of bringing people together to solve problems.
Congressman David Scott, senior member of the House Agriculture Committee, is also seeking the chairmanship of the committee.
