Brownfield meteorologist Greg Soulje says overall the winter weather outlook for the Midwest shows active precipitation and temperature swings.

Soulje says unlike late summer and fall, winter will bring no shortage of moisture. “Probably an above average moisture pattern this wintertime season, probably leaning more towards the liquid variety in the corn belt.”

He says winter storms will likely hold off until late December or beyond.

“And nothing out of control, nothing all that unusual, but it will ramp up again on a pretty active basis through just about all of the Heartland and Corn Belt.”

And the forecast shows wide variances in temperature.
