CoBank is forecasting whey exports to China to remain strong in 2021. Knowledge Exchange manager Tanner Ehmke tells Brownfield China’s commercial hog herd rebuilding from African Swine Fever has been a boon for dairy exports.
“Dry whey is a feed additive in China, and we’ve seen those exports increase and we expect that to continue in 2021.”
USDA’s November export forecast was unchanged for dairy exports at $6.6 billion for the 2021 fiscal year, up $200 million from 2020.
