The USDA’s winter wheat condition rating improved over the past week, but remains well below a year ago as the crop heads towards dormancy.
As of Sunday, 46% of winter wheat is in good to excellent condition, up 3% on the week and down 6% from this time last year, with 92% of the crop emerged, compared to the five-year average of 91%.
84% of cotton is harvested, compared to 79% on average.
