A storm system will drift northward, reaching the lower Great Lakes region today and eastern Canada by mid-week. Heavy rain will linger in coastal New England, with snow continuing in the lower Great Lakes region—especially downwind of Lake Erie—and the central Appalachians. Chilly air trailing the Eastern storm will lead to freezes in the Deep South on December 1-2, possibly as far south as the Gulf Coast from Texas to western Florida.
