The USDA still has almost 20 percent of its funds available for the second Coronavirus Food Assistance Program and a little more than a week left for farmers to sign up.
As of November 29th, the agency has approved more than $11 billion in direct farmer payments for more than 700,000 producers, about 50,000 more applications than the first program.
Top payments have gone for corn, cattle, sales commodities, soybeans, and milk.
