Many farmers are worried about worsening drought conditions heading into winter.
Ed McNamara, who farms in southeast Minnesota, tells Brownfield he only had an inch of rain in October.
“Melted precipitation (anyway), that was from an eight inch snow storm. But we’re kind of into a three month period here where we’re significantly below normal for precipitation.”
He says while the outlook could change, it’s going to take generous amounts of moisture to recharge soils.
