Nutrien, the world’s largest provider of crop inputs and services, has launched a comprehensive carbon program to help growers improve sustainability and productivity.
Mike Frank, CEO of Retail at Nutrien Ag Solutions, says the program is an opportunity for growers to get rewarded for practices they are already doing or could be doing in the future.
“Ultimately our objective is to measure the carbon impact on a farmer’s field and be able to prove that adopting some of these more sustainable practices like variable rate fertilizer, no till, and cover crops can drive productivity and a lower carbon footprint on a bushel of output created,” he says.
