Cool conditions in the southern and eastern U.S. will be replaced by mild weather. Meanwhile, a storm system crossing the Southwest will generate some beneficial precipitation, primarily in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico. The system will traverse the southern Plains and mid-South on Friday before reaching the lower Great Lakes region on Sunday. Storm-total precipitation could reach 1 to 2 inches or more in scattered Southwestern locations and from eastern Texas into Lower Michigan.
