Direct cash cattle trade has been slow to start the day.  Buyers continue to try and push down prices this week as boxed beef prices continue their slide.  Bids in Nebraska have surfaced at $168 dressed.  Asking prices are around $108 to $109 live in the South and $170 plus dressed in the North.  There was a light trade that took place in the North on Wednesday with deals at mostly $168 dressed, that’s $4 lower than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
