Direct cash cattle trade has been slow to start the day. Buyers continue to try and push down prices this week as boxed beef prices continue their slide. Bids in the North have surfaced at $168 dressed. Business might be mostly done for the week in the South while bids have come in at $169 dressed in the North. There was a light trade that took place in the North on Thursday with deals at mostly $168 dressed, that’s $4 lower than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. The South was quiet on Thursday.
