Soybeans were higher on commercial and technical buying, finishing the week mixed, with nearby contracts down and deferred months up. Beans had a delayed reaction to a less bullish than expected, but still nominally bullish, set of USDA supply and demand numbers Thursday. More changes are probable in January, potentially including to U.S. exports and South American production. Thursday, the USDA lowered the production guess for Argentina, but left Brazil unchanged, while CONAB, out before the USDA reduced its estimate for Brazil’s bean crop slightly.
