At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle futures ended the day higher, waiting for widespread direct business to develop.  December live cattle closed $.17 higher at $108.77 and February live cattle closed $.90 higher at $113.77.  January feeder cattle closed $.75 higher at $140.85 and March feeder cattle closed $1.07 higher at $141.97. 

There was a light, scattered direct cash cattle trade in the North on Wednesday.  The majority of business was marked at $105 live, roughly $1 lower than last week’s averages.
