American Farm Bureau’s chief economist says the omnibus spending bill which includes additional coronavirus relief was very much-needed.
John Newton says, “The coronavirus, we’re not past it. We’ve seen two vaccines approved and those are starting to roll out across the country but many Americans continue to struggle due to the economic challenges associated with COVID-19 and this package is a good down payment for America.”
Newton tells Brownfield several elements of the new funding package will help farmers including refinements to the Paycheck Protection Program and additional money for broadband.
