Direct cash cattle trade is at a standstill. Asking prices have started to surface in the Southern Plains at $110, that’s $2 higher than last week’s trade, but the North remains quiet. Bids are hard to find as well. With the shortened holiday week, we could see some trade happen yet today, but it also may hold out until Wednesday.
Boxed beef is higher at midday on good demand for moderate offerings. Choice is $.88 higher at $211.80 and Select is $3.17 higher at $200.43.
