Direct cash cattle trade is off to a slow start following the holiday shortened week. Business so far has been too light to establish asking and live prices in most areas. Last week’s asking prices for cattle left on show lists came in at $109 to $110 to end the week, which was generally $2 higher than the previous week. Northern deals on Wednesday took place from $168 to $172, about $7 higher than the week before.
