Across the Corn Belt, snow is spreading across the Missouri Valley. Early Tuesday, some of the heaviest snow is falling in Nebraska and portions of neighboring states, resulting in some travel disruptions. In advance of the approaching storm system, cold air is entrenched. Sub-zero low temperatures were common Tuesday morning in the upper Great Lakes States, with Eau Claire, Wisconsin, reporting a low of -2°. Cool, dry weather covers the eastern Corn Belt.

On the Plains, wintry precipitation—mostly snow—is falling from Kansas to South Dakota.
