Over the past month, USDA distributed almost an additional $2 billion in direct farmer payments through the second Coronavirus Food Assistance Program and approved nearly 200,000 more applications
As of December 27th, the agency has approved nearly $13 billion in payments for more than 880,000 producers for CFAP2. Enrollment closed at the beginning of the month and slightly more than a billion dollars still remains in the program.
Top payments have gone for corn, cattle, sales commodities, soybeans, and milk.
