Direct cash cattle trade is off to a slow start today with just a few scattered bids. Asking prices in the south are coming in at $112 to $114 and $180 plus in the north. Trade might pick up this afternoon to take care of the bulk of business in this holiday shortened week.
Boxed beef is higher at midday. Choice is up 56 cents at $210.86 and choice is $4.18 higher at $199.66.
