Randy Romanski says even before 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic, Wisconsin farmers were going through difficult times with extreme weather patterns, low commodity prices, and international trade uncertainty before COVID-19 and its supply chain disruptions. Romanski says 2020 forced the department to adjust. “In some cases, we went to virtual settings. We had weekly conference calls with our partners, our stakeholders across all of agriculture so we could stay in touch with what was going on, and from the department’s side of things, we had to learn.
